HOSPITALS AND CLINICS IN ITALY
OFFERING THE SERVICE OF TERMINATINO PREGNANCY
Since it was founded, the non-profit Laiga has been mapping Italian hospitals that offer pregnancy termination services to improve access to this healthcare service. Today, we would like to express our gratitude to the other organisations operating across Italy for their support with this mapping initiative, and to SEMIA Fondo delle Donne for their contribution toward covering the implementation costs.

Notes on how to read the map
Starting in 2026, we also highlight here those hospitals that—either illegally or because the Regional Authority has failed to activate the service—do not offer termination of pregnancy, even though they could.
The procedure varies from place to place; read all the information we provide to minimize downtime.
This map is as comprehensive as possible regarding the current situation, though it does not claim to be exhaustive, as healthcare services change very frequently depending on staffing and the facility’s internal policies. If you require further support, please contact us as well as the relevant local organization in your area.

How to Use the Map
If you are looking for places to obtain an abortion, here are the instructions:- Click View full screen to open the map in full-screen mode in a new window.
- You will find the navigation box ("Data Browser") open, set to IVG within 90 days. To browse the map and find out where to get an abortion, click the "X" in the top right corner to close this box.
- If instead you are interested in finding out where to get an abortion after 90 days (ITG), click on an individual green pin and check the bottom of the information box, or contact us, as we are currently updating this section of the map.

Pin with a house: Abortion using pills. Additionally, if desired, the second doses (miso) can be taken at home, following the staff's instructions;
Green pin: Service available at a hospital.

Icon with a pill: Abortion using pills, and potentially surgical abortion as well;

Icon with a medical bag: Surgical abortion only; sometimes performed as a day procedure, other times requiring an overnight stay (please read the info box).
Fuchsia pin: Service available at a family planning clinic (*consultorio*);
Pin with a "?": We are missing information for this location;
Red pin with an "X": Hospital that has filed a facility-wide objection to performing abortions;
Red pin with a flower: Former Gynecology department that previously offered IVG services but no longer maintains a dedicated ward. It still offers outpatient services relevant to the abortion process. These are often smaller, peripheral facilities.
Targeted Keyword Search
- to search for a specific hospital by name, or to limit your search to a particular region, click on "Filters" (small funnel icon, Image 1) in the top left corner and enter part of the name (Example: "Mangiagalli"), then click on "IVG within 90 days" to view your search results;
